Gang Symbol Drawn on Playground Equipment: Cops

The following information is from the Highland Park Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED

Julio Mundo, 20, of the 200 block of Jeffreys Place was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding after police responded to a two car accident in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road at 11:57 p.m. on Nov. 26.

RETAIL THEFT

Crystal Merced, 32, Northfield was arrested and charged with retail theft after police responded to a report of a shoplifter at a business in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road at 5 p.m. on Nov. 28.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED

Ferdinand Rivera, III, 28, Waukegan was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding after being stopped by police near Calais Drive and St. Tropez Court at 3:27 a.m. on Nov. 29.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE REVOKED

Feliciano Zuniga, Jr., 21, Waukegan was arrested and charged with driving while license revoked, following too closely and open transportation of alcohol after being stopped by police in the 2700 block of Skokie Valley Road at 9:34 p.m. on Nov. 29.

THEFT

An unknown person stole two Garmin 1000 bundle boxes that contained only the accessories from a business in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road at 4:10 p.m. on Nov. 24.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

Unknown person(s) drew a gang symbol in a black permanent marker on playground equipment in the 1800 block of Sunset Road sometime before 10:31 a.m. on Nov. 26.

THEFT

Sometime between 7:30-8:15 a.m. on Nov. 27, unknown person(s) cut a small lock off of a locker and removed cash from a wallet. The theft occurred at a business located in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

Sometime between 9 p.m. on Nov. 26 and 1 p.m. on Nov. 27, unknown person(s) threw a large rock through the rear window of a Toyota Corolla while parked in the 300 block of Walker Avenue.

THEFT

Sometime between 4-4:30 p.m. on Nov. 27, unknown person(s) stole a black Prada down jacket with black mink trim on the hood from the back of a chair and replaced it with a black Northface down jacket. The theft occurred at a business located in the 1700 block of St. Johns Avenue.

THEFT

Sometime between Nov. 26 and 28, unknown person(s) stole a propane tank from a grill located in the backyard of a residence in the 400 block of Lakeside Manor Road.
