On Dec. 1st from 4-7 Forty Artmakers North members will open their first
exhibit at A.I.R Gallery, 348 Tudor crt in Glencoe. Artmakers North is a
group of established mid career artists who work in a variety of media
and who were frustrated by the lack of regional exhibit opportunities
and costly gallery commissions. They have banded together to create a
series of pop up exhibits throughout the North Shore and Lake County.
Initially conceived by Ann Rosen, retired Executive Director of the
Highland Art Center, as a social group that would meet for breakfast and
discuss common issues. it quickly evolved as a vehicle to provide its
70 artist members more exhibition opportunities north of the city.
Future exhibits are planned for Northbrook, Lake
Forest, Waukegan, Libertyville, Highland Park and Eva
