HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park Police Department as a record of police activity. Criminal charges, which are often dropped or reduced, represent merely accusations by the state, and an arrest is not an indication of guilt. All persons arrested are innocent unless their guilt is established by a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.
HOME BURGLARY
On May 2, it was reported that someone had entered a secured apartment in the 1600 block of Second Street and took several items between 9:00 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. on May 2.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
On May 3, it was reported that someone had damaged a parked vehicle located in the 2100 block of St. Johns Avenue between 5:30 p.m. on May 2 and 8:45 a.m. on May 3.

CAR BURGLARIES (THURSDAY NIGHT/FRIDAY MORNING)
- On May 5, it was reported that someone had entered an unsecured vehicle while parked in a driveway located in the 900 block of Auburn Avenue between May 4th at 6:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. on May 5.
- On May 5, it was reported that someone had entered an unsecured vehicle located in the 2900 block of Twin Oaks Drive and stole cash during the prior night.
- On May 5, it was reported that someone had entered an unsecured vehicle located in the 3100 block of University Avenue and stole various items during the prior night.
- On May 5, it was reported that an someone had entered an unsecured vehicle located in the 2800 block of Twin Oaks Drive and stole various items during the prior night.
- On May 5, it was reported that someone entered a vehicle located in the 1000 block of Kent Avenue during prior night.
- On May 5, it was reported that someone had entered an unsecured vehicle while parked in a driveway located in the 3100 block of University Avenue during the prior night.
- On May 5, it was reported that someone had entered an unsecured vehicle while parked in a driveway located in the 2700 block of Arlington Avenue between May 4 at 6 p.m. and 1 p.m. on May 5.
Arrests:
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Alberto Rubio, 24, of the 800 block of Low Avenue in Waukegan was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended driver’s license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and obstructing drivers on the highway after police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Central Avenue shortly before 1 a.m. on May 3.
THEFT OF SERVICES
Scott M. McCabe, 41, of the 100 block of Belle Avenue in Highland Park was arrested and charged with theft of services after police responded to a complaint near the intersection of Central Avenue and Green Bay Road at 1:21 a.m. on May 5.
IN-STATE WARRANT
Dilvia S. Stamps, 25, of the 2200 block of Lewis Avenue, Waukegan was arrested and charged with an in-state warrant, no valid driver’s license and speeding 26 – 34 mph over the limit after police conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Park Avenue West at 12:17 a.m. on May 7.
