Highland Park Crime: Laptops Stolen, Shoplifter Nabbed

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park Police Department as a record of police activity. Criminal charges, which are often dropped or reduced, represent merely accusations by the state. All defendants are innocent until their guilt is established by a court of law.

DUI

John N. Eikey, 43, of the 1300 block of North Poplar Street in Greensburg, Pennsylvania was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage, possession of between 10 and 30 grams of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance after police pulled him over near the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Old Elm Road at 6:51 a.m. on April 26.

TRESPASSING

Renee L. Bova, 62, of the 600 block of Broadview Avenue in Highland Park, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to land after police responded to a complaint in the 600 block of Broadview Avenue on April 26 at 10:21 a.m.

WARRANT

Maurice D. Brown III, 46, of the 10000 block of South Corliss Avenue in Chicago, was arrested and charged with an in-state warrant and attempted retail theft after police responded to a complaint in the 1600 block of Deerfield Road around 10 p.m. on April 27. Brown III was given a June court date for his retail theft attempt violation and was then transported to Lake County Jail for his in-state warrant.

SPEEDING 40+ MPH OVER THE LIMIT

Tyler J. Depies-Bobrowitz, 22, of the 500 block of West Riverwood Drive in Oak Creek, Wisconsin was arrested and charged with speeding more than 40 mph over the limit after police conducted a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road at 2:20 a.m. on April 29.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

On April 24 at 9:11 a.m. it was reported that an someone had damaged the exterior and interior of a building located in the 3100 block of Chatfield Drive between 5 p.m. on April 21 and 9 a.m. on April 24.

THEFT

Shortly after 10:30 a.m. on April 24, it was reported that an someone had entered a parked vehicle and stole an audio tape while the owner was inside a business located in the 1600 block of Deerfield Road.

THEFT

On April 24 at 7:13 p.m., it was reported that an unknown man had stolen merchandise from a business located in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road on April 23rd at approximately 5:10pm.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

Shortly before 3 p.m. on April 25, it was reported that a man damaged a vehicle parked outside a business in the 400 block of Central Avenue between 11 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. on April 24.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

At 7:33 p.m. on April 25, it was reported that someone entered a locked vehicle parked in a parking lot in the 1800 block of Sunset Road between 6:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on April 25.

THEFT

On April 28 at 10:48 a.m., it was reported that someone stole several laptop computers from a facility located in the 1900 block of Green Bay Road between May 2, 2016 and April 28.

CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT

At 5:53 p.m. on April 28 it was reported that someone damaged public property located in the 3400 block of Krenn Avenue at an unknown time.
