Highland Park Crime: Shooter Charged, Political Sign Thieves At Large

Highland Park Police Department reports for the week of Feb. 7-13.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from reports from the Highland Park Police Department.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

A 20-year-old man of the 1200 block of Brookside Avenue, Waukegan was arrested and charged with burglary to motor vehicle and possession of a stolen auto the afternoon of Feb. 7 after police conducted an investigation into several burglary to motor vehicle incidents that occurred during the overnight hours of Jan. 18 and 19.

AGGRAVATED DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM

Andres Carillo, 30, of the 2500 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park was arrested and charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm, no conceal carry permit and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after police responded to a complaint in the near the intersection of Waukegan Road and Deerfield Road in Deerfield on Feb. 10. Carillo-Escuvedo is being held on a $1 million bond.

THEFT

On Feb. 10 a victim was reported in the 2600 block of Roslyn Circle that someone stole a piece of jewelry from the her home while performing work the morning of Feb. 2.

THEFT

On Feb. 10 it was reported that an someone left a business without paying for fuel that was pumped into their car in the 0-100 block of Skokie Valley Road.

RETAIL THEFT

On Feb. 10 it was reported that a woman residing on the 2900 block of Summit Avenue allegedly attempted to steal merchandise from a business located in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

Around 6:00 a.m. on Feb. 11 it was reported that a male subject damaged a vehicle that was parked outside a home in the 900 block of Burton Avenue.

THEFT

On Feb. 11 it was reported that a man stole an item from a business at the 1500 block of Old Deerfield Road.

On Feb. 11 it was reported that an someone stole various political signs from a residence located in the 1400 block of Linden Avenue and throughout the surrounding neighborhood. The incident was believed to occur between 2:00pm and 10:00pm on February 11.

On Feb. 12 it was reported that an someone stole various political signs from a residence located in the 1200 block of Linden Avenue and throughout the surrounding neighborhood. The incident was believed to occur between 5:00 p.m. on Feb. 11 and 1:00 p.m. on Feb. 12.

On Feb. 12 it was reported that someone stole various political signs from a residence located in the 1300 block of Linden Avenue and throughout the surrounding neighborhood. The incident was believed to occur between the overnight hours of Feb. 11 and Feb. 12.
