Highland Park Crime: Unlicensed Driver Leaves Scene Of Accident, DUIs, Thefts

Highland Park Police Department reports for Feb. 20-Feb. 27

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park Police Department. It is a record of police activity. Criminal charges are often dropped or reduced and all defendants are innocent until proven guilty in court.

THEFT

On Feb. 20, at 6:51 p.m., it was reported a woman stole merchandise from a business on the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road. The woman was issued a retail theft citation.

On Feb. 22 , shortly after 10:30 a.m., it was reported that someone fueled up their vehicle and left without paying at a business located in the 0 – 100 block of Skokie Valley Road.

On Feb. 22, shortly after 11:30 a.m., it was reported a man and woman stole merchandise
from a business located in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road.

On Feb. 24 around 4:00 p.m. it was reported that someone stole cash from a home on the 600 block of Elm Place between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m..

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

On Feb. 21 around 8:30 p.m. it was reported someone had damaged a mailbox outside a home on the 2600 block of Western Avenue.

DANGEROUS DRIVING WITHOUT A LICENSE

On Feb. 23 at 6:18 p.m. a 27-year-old man of the 800 block of Euclid Court in Highwood was arrested and charged with no valid driver’s license, failure to yield and leaving the scene of an accident after police arrived at the scene of a traffic accident near the intersection of Green Bay Road and Vine Avenue.

On Feb. 24 at 4:41 p.m. a 35-year-old man, of the 700 block of North Lake Street in Antioch was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving with a revoked registration after police responded to a traffic accident near the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Park Avenue West.

On Feb. 25 at 1:35 a.m. a 26-year-old woman of the 5000 block of South Princeton Avenue in Chicago was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding 26 – 34 MPH over the limit after police conducted a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road.

DUI/ENDANGERING THE LIFE OF A CHILD

On Feb. 21 at 2:26 a.m. a 27-year-old man of the 1700 block of East 73rd Place in Chicago was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving while license suspended, endangering the life of a child and speeding 35+ MPH over the limit after police conducted a traffic stop in the 3000 block of Skokie Valley Road.

On Feb. 26 shortly before 2:00 a.m., a 31-year-old man of the 300 block of Jocelyn Place in Highwood was arrested and charged with driving under the influence after police conducted a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road.

On Feb. 26 around 4:00 a.m. a 37-year-old man of the 2500 block of West Winona Street in Chicago was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage after police conducted a traffic stop in the 2500 block of Skokie Valley Road.

On Feb. 27 shortly before 2:00 a.m., a 50-year-old man of the 1000 block of Rosemary Terrace in Deerfield was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage after police conducted a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Deerfield Road.
