Highland Park Girl Gets a Chance to Dance With Justin Bieber Onstage (VIDEO)

Jordyn Shapiro, 11, is one of two suburban dancers from Soul2Sole Dance who will perform with the pop star when he's in Chicago.

An 11-year-old dancer from Highland Park will get her chance to show off her moves to a crowd of thousands when she shares the stage with pop star Justin Bieber during his visit to Chicago later this month.

Jordyn Shapiro, a dancer at Soul2Sole Dance, which has studios in Highland Park and Buffalo Grove, was one of eight kids chosen to perform with the singer during Bieber's Chicago concerts for his The Purpose World Tour. Shapiro will be on stage for the Friday, April 22, concert.

Another Sou2Sole dancer—Hannah Ohel, 11, of Long Grove—will dance during the Saturday, April 23, gig. Both shows are at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont.

The girls earned their spots as part of a contest that had thousands of young dancers send in videos performing to one of Bieber's songs. To compete, contestants needed to record themselves dancing to the single "Children."

In the introduction to her video, Shapiro says how cool it would be not only to perform with professional dancers—a career she hopes to pursue—but also to be able to snag some spotlight time with that other guy who'll be on stage. The one who likes to post shirtless selfies and show off his ink and washboard abs.

"I mean, who doesn't love Justin Bieber? He's one of my inspirations," Shapiro says in the video.

“These girls have danced at Soul2Sole since they were 3 years old," Debbie Kramer, Soul2Sole's owner, stated in a press release about the girls. "We love watching all of our students grow with dance and take the stage, but this is an opportunity of a lifetime, and we are so proud of Hannah and Jordyn.”

Shapiro and Ohel study multiple forms of dance at Soul2Sole, including ballet, jazz and hip hop. They also are members of the studio's elite competition team and its all-girl hip hop team, Fusion.
