Highland Park High School Rotary Interact Club Cleans the Beach!
On Saturday, September 29th, the HPHS Rotary Interact Club joined forces with the Rotary Club of Highland Park /Highwood and the Park District of Highland Park to do a major fall clean-up of Ravine Drive Beach and Millard Park. Approximately 80 students and 15 adults spent the afternoon walking the beach and the park, cleaning up all of the trash in the area and getting the land ready for the winter. This is just one of many service projects that Rotary Interact Club participates in throughout the year. The club is led by Highland Park High School teachers, Melissa Zientara and Matthew Nieto. The next service project for the HPHS Rotary Interact Club members is Feed My Starving Children at the end of October. During this project, club members will be assembling bags of nutrient rich foods and packaging the bags to send to countries in need.
