Highland Park Hospital Welcomes First Baby Of 2022

The first baby of the year emerged in Highland Park just 90 minutes into the new year.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The first baby born in 2022 at Highland Park Hospital entered the world 90 minutes into the new year.

Elana Rose Ithier was born at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, weighing in at eight pounds, four ounces and measured just shy of 20 inches in length.

Elena is the second baby born to Niles residents Simone and Rolando Ithier. She joins 2-year-old Aurelia Margaret Ithier, according to Hospital officials.

A NorthShore University HealthSystem spokesperson said Elena and Simone are both doing well.
