Highland Park Native Joins Unity Hospice of Chicagoland

Highland Park Native Jessica Dubin recently joined Unity Hospice of Chicagoland as licensed social worker

CHICAGO – Unity Hospice of Chicagoland recently appointed Jessica Dubin, of Chicago, Ill. – Lincoln Square a licensed social worker of its Chicagoland office. Administrator Chaim Klein made the announcement.

In her new role, Dubin will provide social services to Unity Hospice patients living in the South Side of Chicago. She will serve as a liaison for patients living with life-limiting illness and their families to receive the necessary resources they need in order to meet their needs as they approach end of life.

Using their expertise in working with populations from varying cultures, ages and socioeconomic status, social workers in hospice help patients and their families cope with trauma and grief and must be prepared to assess such needs and provide appropriate support.

Prior to joining Unity Hospice, Dubin worked with adult Alzheimer’s and dementia clients at a home care agency, where she served as the connection of information between her clients, their families and their caregivers. Additionally, she provided emotional support as needed. Previous to that, Dubin served as a teacher’s assistant for special education at a local high school. To complement her skillset in social work, Dubin held two internships; one at an outpatient psychiatric facility and the other at a Chicagoland cancer treatment center where she provided medical social work, oversaw discharge planning and tended to patients’ emotional and social needs.

A Highland Park native, Dubin currently lives in Chicago, Ill. – Lincoln Square. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Bradly University – Peoria, Ill., and her Masters of Social Work with a focus on mental health from Loyola University.
