Highland Park Obituary: Merle Rose, 88

The 50-year Highland Park resident served in the U.S. Navy, worked as a salesman and volunteered at the Chicago Botanic Garden.

Merle D. Rose died April 20, 2020, at age 88. The son of the late Mansfield and Lydia Rose of Chicago, graduate of Hyde Park High School and University of Colorado, served in the United States Navy, a successful salesman for Grohe, and enthusiastic and dedicated volunteer at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Married to Judith (nee Stern) for 64 years, until her passing in 2018. Resident of Highland Park for 50 years. Survived by his children, Melissa, Mitchell, and Esther, and 11 grandchildren: Ian, Katie, Colin, Shoshana, Menachem, Moshe, Rachael, Shimon, Yosef, Leila, and Emmet.
