Highland Park Police Participate In 'Christmas With A Cop'
The Highland Park Police Department and neighboring agencies were able to take 33 kids who all came from 14 families shopping.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL - The Highland Park Police Department and neighboring law enforcement agencies are doing their part to make Christmas brighter for children in need.
On Dec. 14, the Highland Police Department along with Illinois State Police District 11 Collinsville, Trenton Police Department, St. Jacob Police Department-Illinois, Grantfork Police Department and Troy Police Department participated in the ninth annual 'Christmas with a Cop.'
The officers we were able to take 33 kids shopping from 14 families. Santa also made a surprise visit and brought a little North Pole magic with him.

"As always, thank you to our Walmart Highland - State Route 143 for hosting the event," the Highland Park Police Department posted on its official Facebook page. "We would also like to extend our appreciation to Broadway Bar and Grill and Burger King for their donations on the day of the event."

Both businesses had a one day event where they donated a portion of their sales to "Christmas with a Cop." On top of that, Highland Burger King provided breakfast for the kids and families on the day of the event.

"Thank you to everyone for your generous donations to 'Christmas with a Cop' throughout the year," event participants said. "Because so many of you made this your own, you made Christmas a little brighter for these kids."
