Highland Park Resident Named Lake County Community Foundation's Executive Director

Jon H. Teeuwissen has seen financial success for organizations he's been with in New Orleans, Chicago and California.

Jon H. Teeuwissen, a Highland Park resident, is the new executive director of the Lake County Community Foundation, having accepted the role last month.

“Lake County is where I live,” said Teeuwissen. “It’s my community, where I’m invested.”

According to the Daily Herald, Teeuwissen is widely credited with three financial turnarounds: the New Orleans Ballet Association, Chicago’s Joffrey Ballet, and the California Center for the Arts, Escondido.

“A significant piece of his strategy for success has been a commitment to community engagement and the creation of task forces to engage and empower specific demographics,” the Daily Herald article states.

Anne W. Reusché, chair of The Lake County Community Foundation Board, said the organization’s new leader has “a proven track record of adapting and enhancing programs to meet the needs of diverse communities.”

“His history of moving organizations from good to great truly makes him the leader who meets the foundation’s aspirations for the future,” Reusche said.

Teeuwissen’s civic engagements include serving on the Vestry of Trinity Episcopal Church in Highland Park.
