Highland Park Retail Center Sells For $7.75M

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — A 13-suite retail property in Highland Park has sold for $7.75 million, according to real estate brokerage firm Marcus & Millichap.

The firm said Garrity Square, at 1833 Deerfield Road, was sold in a deal handled by brokers from its Chicago Oak Brook office. The buyer was described as a private investor.

Marcus & Millichap said the 20,000-square-foot property is anchored by a freestanding Starbucks that has operated at the property since 2002.

“The sale of Garrity Square demonstrates investor’s continued appetite for well-located, convenience retail situated within mature suburban markets,” said Adrian Mendoza, senior managing director investments.

Marcus & Millichap said the property includes long-tenured food, medical and daily-needs, community-based service tenants alongside Starbucks. The sale adds another commercial real estate transaction to Highland Park's North Shore market, where retail centers tied to daily-needs businesses can draw investor interest.
