Highland Park Seeks Award Nominations

The Highland Park Human Relations Commission is accepting nominations for the Highland Park Humanitarian Award. This award recognizes an individual who has rendered outstanding service to the Highland Park community. Any person who has a record of sustained giving and has through his/her efforts made a significant contribution to changing lives in Highland Park may be nominated. Areas of personal service to Highland Park can include, but are not limited to, the following categories: education, charitable work, business, government, senior citizens, youth, disabled and environmental. A list of previous award winners are provided on the website.

The Human Relations Commission is also accepting nominations for the Robert Barnard Character Counts Pillar Award honoring nominees whose beliefs, attitudes and actions consistently exemplify the six pillars of character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.

The Character Counts awards are a collaboration between the City of Highland Park, North Shore School District 112 and Highland Park High School. Nominations can be submitted for both children and adults who exemplify good character.

Nominations for both awards must be made no later than Monday, March 2, 2015 and may be submitted on the pages linked above.
