Highland Park's Ravinia District Announces New 'Market & Music Thursdays' in Jens Jensen Park
Artisan food, drink & craft market kicks off June 16–Aug 18 from 3-8pm, live music from 6-8pm

RAVINIA DISTRICT, HIGHLAND PARK, IL (APRIL 2016) – The Ravinia District of Highland Park is pleased to announce its new weekly “Market & Music Thursdays,” June 16th through August 18th from 3-8 p.m. in Jens Jensen Park, 486 Roger Williams Avenue. The public is invited to come out and enjoy artisan food, drink and crafts from more than 20 local vendors, while enjoying live outdoor musical performances from 6-8 p.m.
“We are excited to bring people out this summer to enjoy the beauty of the Ravinia District at Market & Music Thursdays to shop, dine and listen to music in the great outdoors,” says Katie Wiswald, Chair of the Ravinia Business District Association and Vice President at Highland Park Bank & Trust.
Whether on the way to Ravinia Festival, or just looking for an evening outdoors with the family, attendees are encouraged to enjoy this rain or shine weekly market and visit the many owner-operated businesses throughout the walk-able Ravinia District. There will be children’s activities to keep the little ones busy while adults shop, dine, and drink amongst the local vendors. Everyone will enjoy socializing with neighbors and new faces from Highland Park and surrounding communities that come out to the Ravinia District to enjoy the live music in Jens Jensen Park.

Located across from the Ravinia Metra train station (Southeast corner of St. Johns and Roger Williams Avenues) in the charming Ravinia District in Highland Park, the historic Jens Jensen Park is the perfect setting for the community to enjoy time together in the great outdoors while supporting local and small businesses. Market & Music goers can ride their bicycles along the newly enhanced bike path that takes riders into the District’s diverse businesses that will be staying open later on Market & Music Thursdays.
The weekly musical performances are generously sponsored by the Highland Park Community Foundation in their mission to continue to make the Highland Park community as dynamic and vital as possible. The Highland Park Public Library will also be on hand organizing crafts and activities for children.
