“We have moved this years’ annual dinner from the usual Saturday night event to Sunday to accommodate the schedules of the many restaurant and bar owners who may not be able to join us on a Saturday evening. And the following Monday is Martin Luther King Day,” says Julie Brugioni, President of the Highwood Chamber of Commerce.

“We are excited to have the Highwood’s iconic Del Rio restaurant host our annual meeting and dinner,” continues Brugioni. “The restaurant has been a staple in Highwood for over 90 years, and it is the perfect example of a hometown Highwood establishment that has evolved over the years.”
Del Rio was first established in 1923, and features northern Italian family recipes that take diners back in time when restaurants were not part of a chain, the owner was a friend, and the food always great. Through four generations the Pigati family continues to make authentic dinners from scratch.

“Del Rio is honored that the Highwood Chamber of Commerce has chosen us to host their event,” says Bill Pigati, owner of Del Rio. “We are hoping to share some of our great recipes with the community and bring in a new generation of guests to our table.”
The Highwood Chamber had a monumental year in 2016, with its inaugural Wine & Beer Walk, monthly networking breakfasts, evening mixers and Girls Night Out. The annual dinner is a way to recognize and thank the fabulous members that made it all possible. The year 2017 will offer new membership benefits and focus on new initiatives such as a Highwood Community Guide, cross promotions with member businesses, and regular business after hours events and mixers that will bring ‘edutainment’ to members and guests.
“Our goal for 2017 is to continuously drive business into our wonderful town, let people experience all that Highwood has to offer, and visit new businesses they have never been to,” says Brugioni.
Highwood has a very special business community, which is growing bigger and better each year. The Highwood Chamber of Commerce strives to be the best resource for them. The outpouring of support from Highwood’s residents shows their true love of the town, which is really what makes Highwood the “hot spot” on the North Shore.
