A 38-year-old Carpentersville man was arrested and charged with filing a false police report after 3:00 am Friday. Police say they found the man had been involved in a hit and run accident in Deerfield before reporting to his vehicle had been stolen and damaged.

A 24-year-old woman from Skokie was cited for retail theft after allegedly shoplifting at a business in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road Saturday afternoon.

For the third time, someone damaged a 2007 Toyota Camry on the 1500 block of McCraren Road, police said. The latest report was received last Monday morning.

After a dispute had taken place over a parking space in the 700 block of Central Avenue Friday afternoon, a vehicle was found to have a flat tire, with the air having apparently been let out intentionally.

A apparent shoplifter was chased out of a business by employees at the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road but managed to escape in a vehicle Friday afternoon.
