HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
THEFT OF LOST/UNATTENDED ITEM
Someone stole a wallet from inside a purse that had been left unattended on top of a desk between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. July 6 at Studio41 Home Design Showroom at 3160 Skokie Valley Road. A stolen card was later used unsuccessfully twice at a Target store in Skokie.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
Someone cut a lock and a chain to break into Howard Barg & Associates, 2868 Skokie Valley Road around 5 p.m. on July 10. One or more burglars broke into a trailer and stole landscaping equipment of unknown value.

SHOPLIFTING
Staff at the Walgreens, 655 Elm Place, reported that a man had carried a 12-pack of Modelo beer, valued at about $16, into a bathroom around 4:30 p.m. July 11 before employees confronted him and asked him to pay. He then stole two of the bottles, police were told.
BIN THEFT
Someone stole a recycling container from a home in the 2500 block of Green Bay Road at some point prior to 8 p.m. July 11.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE
Someone stole a catalytic converter from a Ford pickup truck at some point between 9 a.m. July 14 and 8:20 a.m. July 15 while it was parked in the 1500 block of Old Deerfield Road.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE
Someone smashed the rear passenger side window of a Toyota SUV parked in the 600 block of Sumac Road between 11 p.m. on July 15 and 2 p.m. on July 16. Nothing was listed as stolen at the time of the report.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO STATE-SUPPORTED PROPERTY
Someone drew three small markings, possible using a permanent marker, onto the walls above the window wells on the southeast corner of Indian Trail School, 2075 St. Johns Ave., at some point prior to about 7:30 p.m. July 18.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Shortly before 12:30 p.m. on July 16, the driver of a Porsche SUV drove over the front lawn of a home in the 1000 Court Avenue because a delivery driver was stopped in the roadway. Police reported that tire tracks showed the SUV drove onto the sidewalk about about four feet onto the property, bending the grass but not damaging the lawn. Officers later found the SUV at Sunset Valley Golf Course. The driver admitted driving over the lawn and was issued an improper lane usage citation.
Alexander Sullivan, 24, of the 900 block of Wade Street, Highland Park, was arrested around 2:30 a.m. on July 10 following a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Green Bay Road. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater. Officers also ticketed him for driving without lights when required.
Otgonsuren Lundaajaamts, 32, of the 4500 block of North Ashland Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 5:30 a.m. on July 12 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater after police were called to a home in the 1100 block of County Line Road for a report of a woman who had driven up onto a lawn. Officers also issued her an improper lane usage citation.
Amy K. Miller, 55, of the 2500 block of Waukegan Road, Highland Park, was arrested around 7:30 a.m. on July 16 following a hit-and-run crash where police reported she struck an occupied parked car and drop off of the roadway and struck a city-owned sign in the 1900 block of Sunset Road before fleeing the area. Officers pulled her over near the intersection of Deerfield Road and Villas Court and charged her with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater.
Brandon M. Starr, 28, of the 500 block of North State Street, was arrested around 5 a.m. on July 18 following a traffic stop in the area of Old Elm Road and Skokie Valley Road. Police charged him with driving under the influence of alcohol and misdemeanor attempted cocaine possession. He was also issued citations for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to properly wear a seat belt, improper lane usage and speeding.
