Highland Park Police Blotter: July 3 - July 10

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Readers are reminded than an arrest is not an indication of guilt, and criminal charges, which are often dropped or reduced, represent merely accusations. All persons named are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
On July 4, shortly after 9:30 a.m., it was reported that someone had entered an unoccupied residence in the 1600 block of Second Street and stolen an unknown number of items.

THEFT
On July 5 at 10:38 a.m., it was reported that someone had stolen a cell phone that was misplaced at a business located in the 1600 block of Deerfield Road.
RETAIL THEFT
On July 5 at 11:14 a.m., a woman was cited for attempting to steal merchandise from a business in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road. She was issued an administrative citation for retail theft with a court date of July 17, 2017 at Highland Park City Hall.

THEFT
On July 5, shortly before noon, it was reported that someone stole multiple items from an individual at a business located in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road on June 29th between 5:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
On July 5 at 7:50 p.m., it was reported that someone entered a vehicle located in the 2000 block of Churchill Lane and stole various items during the overnight hours of July 1.
THEFT
On July 6, shortly before 7 p.m., it was reported that someone stole a bicycle from a residence located in the 1200 block of Taylor Avenue between July 4 and July 6.
STOLEN VEHICLE
On July 7, shortly after 7:30 a.m., it was reported that someone had stolen an unlocked vehicle parked in a residential driveway located in the 1200 block of St. Johns Avenue during the overnight hours of July 7, 2017.
CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
On July 7 at 6:40 p.m., it was reported that an unknown individual(s) damaged property at a business located in the 1200 block of Park Avenue West.
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
On July 7 at 6:40 p.m., police were told someone had stolen various items from an unlocked vehicle that had been parked in the 1700 block of Elmwood Drive during the previous overnight hours.
CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
Around 10 p.m. on July 8, police were told someone had damaged public property in the 600 block of Laurel Avenue.
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
On July 9, police were told that someone had entered two unlocked vehicles located in the 1200 block of St. Johns Avenue and stole various items during the overnight hours of July 7.
THEFT
On July 9, police were told three women or girls entered a business located in the 1500 block of Clavey Road and stole multiple items at approximately 8:20 p.m.
ARRESTS
SUSPENDED LICENCE
A 31-year-old Highland Park man was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and disobeying a traffic sign at 12:48 p.m. on July 7 after police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Green Bay Road and Central Avenue. Condon was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of July 26, 2017 in Park City.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Eddie Martinez-Gonzalez, 30, of the 200 block of Sheridan Road in Highwood, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving while license suspended and disobeying a stop sign after police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Bloom Avenue and St. Johns Ave at 9:50 p.m. on July 8. Martinez-Gonzalez was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of August 11, 2017 in Waukegan.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Isaac D. Williams, 42, of the 1100 block of Broadway Bay Road in North Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, no valid driver’s license, improper lane usage and illegal transportation of alcohol after police conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of the Skokie Valley Road at 2:30 a.m. on July 9. Williams was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of July 28, 2017 in Waukegan.
