Honey's Hot Chicken's 1st Customer Will Win Free Meals for a Year
The restaurant's grand opening Tuesday also includes other giveaways and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Highland Park, IL—Honey's Hot Chicken receives the oversize scissors treatment Tuesday when it holds its ribbon-cutting grand opening.
The grand opening will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5 p.m at the restaurant, 1791 St. Johns Ave. Mayor Nancy Rotering, as well as members of the City Council and Highland Park Chamber of Commerce also are scheduled to attend the event.
As part of the grand opening celebration, the first guest in line to eat at Honey's Hot Chicken will earn a free meal from the restaurant every month for a year. Plus, customers dining between 11 a.m. and noon Tuesday, June 28, will receive a complimentary two-piece fried chicken meal.

Owner Jeff Shapiro and partner and executive Chef Dean Eliacostas—the duo behind the Real Urban Barbecue group of restaurants—call their new venture "a fast casual, chef-driven concept that is taking chicken to a whole new level."

- fried chicken, made to order “glazed” with your choice of specialty spicy Nashville Hot or buffalo sauce, dusted with traditional, ranch or Z’atar seasonings
- Honey Butter Chicken with whipped butter made from fresh honey
- chicken and Belgian pearl sugar waffles
- hand-rolled jalapeno corn fritters
- crispy fried grits
While Tuesday will be the Honey's official opening, the restaurant did have a practice run with family and friends over the weekend, according to a Facebook update.
