HR Green to update North Shore Water Reclamation District Facilities

HR Green has been chosen by North Shore Water Reclamation District to develop plans and specifications for the replacement of crucial electrical equipment at the District’s Clavey Road, Gurnee and Waukegan Water Reclamation Facilities.

“We are ecstatic that the North Shore Water Reclamation District has again placed their trust in HR Green to deliver another successful electrical equipment upgrade project for their facilities” said Eddie McCall, Senior Project Manager with HR Green.

The existing single-function electromechanical protective relays in the 4,160 Volt main switchgear at the facilities are obsolete, have limited protective functions, and are difficult to maintain and repair due to the lack of availability of parts. The purpose of this project is to replace the existing electromechanical protective relays with modem multi-function digital protective relays.

The North Shore Water Reclamation District (NSWRD) owns and operates more than 100 miles of intercepting sewer lines and 10 pumping stations which collect and convey wastewater from local sewer systems to Water Reclamation Facilities in Gurnee, Waukegan, and Highland Park, Illinois. Additional NSWRD facilities include the NSWRD Biosolids Recycling Facility in Zion, Illinois.
