Illinois Bone & Joint Institute Honors Three Athletes with Donation to New Trier High School

IBJI’s Dr. Richard Sherman (seen at left in photo) recently visited New Trier High School to honor three student athletes for their achievements. All three young women were selected by Chicago Tribune’s TribLocal division as winners of the TribLocal “High School Athlete of the Month.”

An orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Sherman has served as a team physician at New Trier for 27 years.  During a recent visit to the school’s Winnetka campus, Dr. Sherman presented the young Trevians - Kara Lucenti (swimming) , Alexa Czyzynski (basketball) and Taylor Tamblyn (tennis) - with plaques recognizing their accomplishments. Dr. Sherman also presented an IBJI donation check for $500 to athletic director Randy Oberembt, who accepted on behalf of the school’s athletic department.

The physicians and staff at Illinois Bone & Joint Institute are passionate about helping athletes all over Chicagoland move better and live better. As part of that commitment, IBJI will continue its sponsorship of the Athlete of the Month program throughout the 2013-2014 school year.
