JASON KANDER TO KEYNOTE APPRECIATION DINNER in DEERFIELD
NATIONAL STAR JASON KANDER TO KEYNOTE LOCAL DEMOCRATS' CANDIDATE AND VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION DINNER IN DEERFIELD
Deerfield, IL — The Tenth Congressional District Democrats (Tenth Dems) will host a Candidate and Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on Wednesday, July 19, at 6 PM, at the Hyatt Regency Deerfield, 1750 Lake Cook Road, in Deerfield. The dinner honors those who took the big step of putting themselves forward to run in this year's elections. The Keynote Speaker will be Jason Kander.
Named a rising star in the Democratic Party by President Obama, millennial Jason Kander was a U.S. Senate candidate in Missouri in 2016. He’s served as Missouri’s Secretary of State, a state legislator, and as an Army National Guard Intelligence Officer in Afghanistan. Kander’s Senate campaign garnered national attention, and his ad in which he assembled a rifle blindfolded while affirming support for gun safety laws went viral.
Earlier this year, Kander started Let America Vote, a national organization that pushes back against attempts to restrict voting rights. Kander also is a CNN contributor. He and his wife Diana have one son, True. Jason is the great-nephew of legendary Broadway composer John Kander, whose best-known musicals include Cabaret and Chicago.
