From aerial wetland surveys in low-flying aircraft to hip-deep work in the water itself, wetland ecologist Heath Hagy will explain how scientists survey populations of waterfowl and other wetland birds, estimate food resources in wetlands, and factor in changes in wetland characteristics during the last century to direct wetland conservation and restoration activities in Illinois.
