Kidnapping, Home Invasion Scheme Thwarted: Cops
At least one of two men charged with home invasion planned to kidnap a woman from her Highland Park home, police said.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — Two men have charged with home invasion in connection with an incident in Highland Park last week. At least one of the men plotted to kidnap the woman who lived at the home the men are charged with burglarizing, police announced Monday.
Neighbors on the 1000 block of Deerfield Place reported a disturbance at about 5:20 a.m. on May 29, according to Highland Park Police.
Responding officers found a victim, witnesses and two men who were later charged with several felonies over the incident, police said.

Uladzimir Marozau, 33, of the 2100 block of North Ginger Circle in Palatine, was charged with home invasion, residential burglary, possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, battery and attempted kidnapping.

Another man, Dimitry Voronin, 39, of the 5800 block of Rose Avenue in Countryside, was charged with home invasion and residential burglary.

Both men are being held on $1 million bond and have court appearances scheduled for June 9 in Waukegan.
