Kings & Convicts raises over 10K for Pediatric Brain Cancer
Kings & Convicts Brewing Co. is excited to announce over $10,000 was raised at the fundraising event of their namesake Stew's Brew release.

Kings & Convicts Brewing Co. successfully celebrated national beer day by raising $10,500 for Dr. Stewart Goldman’s Research Foundation at their Stew’s Brew Release Fundraiser on April 7, 2018. 100% of proceeds from the sold out “Stew’s Brew” beer went to Benny’s World in support of Dr. Stewart’s pediatric brain tumor research at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital. All money will directly fund research for Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).
The event was held in honor of Kings & Convicts co-founder Brendan Watters’ son Benny who lost his battle with DIPG at age five. Diagnosed right before his 3rd birthday, young Benny fought for 33 months before losing his battle with DIPG on September 8, 2010.
In the hospital, Benny developed a unique bond with his medical specialist, Dr. Stewart Goldman. He always looked forward to seeing Dr. Stew and would draw pictures of fishing and drinking beer together, explained his family. This inspired Kings & Convicts to partner the Benny’s World foundation, created by Benny’s family in 2008, with Benny’s beloved Dr. Stew. Named after Dr. Stewart Goldman, Stews Brew was developed to celebrate Benny and raise money to help fund research and find a cure for pediatric brain stem tumors.
