Local Artist To Hold Half-Off Sale At The Art Center
Adrienne Aaronson will offer paintings and other work on July 19 and 20.
Highland Park artist Adrienne Aaronson was stumped when her husband asked her bluntly, “What should be done with your artwork when you die?”
After the initial shock, the longtime Highland Park resident and contributor to The Art Center in Highland Park decided a sale at the Art Center would be best.
It was “a natural choice” for Aaronson, who is a Plein air artist - often beginning a new piece every week and with more than 200 that could be sold, to hold the sale - July 19 and 20 - at the Center.

Over the last 23 years as a board member, Aaronson initiated the popular recycled art sale now called ‘Gogh Green’ and has been active in the Highland Park community for 40 years.
The sale will include numerous paintings and other works of art at 50 percent off exhibition prices.

“As people my age start to scale down I too must weed out,” she said of the upcoming sale. “But as an artist I have far more stuff than most.”
“As an added incentive, I will be serving my homemade fudge,” known to be among the best in the Midwest, she says.
