Longtime Highland Park Businessman Dies in Florida Plane Crash

Former Mutual Ace Hardware president was piloting an aircraft near Orlando Saturday morning.

The former president of Mutual Ace Hardware on Route 41 in Highland Park was killed in a central Florida plane crash over the weekend.

Dane Sheahen, the longtime Highland Park businessman and pilot who lived in Fort Sheridan and had a second home in Florida, was piloting a single-engine airplane when he crashed in Clermont, Fla. Saturday morning, according to the Daily North Shore. He and a passenger - James Kos of Oklahoma - died in the accident about 20 miles west of Orlando.

The cause of the crash has yet to be determined.
