Man Wanted On Federal Fraud Charge Arrested: Highland Park Crimes

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information is a record of police activity and arrests made by the Highland Park Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges can be dropped or reduced. All persons named are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

ARRESTS

Ryan P. Sammartino, 27, of the 1800 block of Country Drive in Grayslake, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, driving on roadways lined for traffic and speeding after police conducted a stop in the 1600 block of Half Day Road around 11:42 a.m. on June 12. Sammartino was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of July 14, 2017 in Waukegan.

POSSESSION OF A STOLEN VEHICLE

Nathan T. Bartz, 25, of the 1400 block of Cascade Street in Rochester, Minnesota was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle after police responded to a complaint in the 1400 block of Park Avenue West around 5 p.m. on June 13. Bartz was transported to bond court in Waukegan.

OUT-OF-STATE (FEDERAL) WARRANT

Osariemen Isibor, 30, of the 800 block of Spiros Court in DeKalb, was arrested for an out-of-state warrant after police conducted a traffic stop in the 1700 block of St. Johns Avenue shortly before 8 p.m. on June 15. Isibor was transported to court by the Federal Bureau of Investigations. Federal court records show he was indicted by a grand jury in Vermont in April on one count of conspiring to carry out a fraud scheme involving fraudulent tax returns.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Lance J. Cutler, 56, of the 1000 block of Sheridan Road, Highland Park was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage after police responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 1500 block of Sheridan Road around 4 a.m. on June 16. Cutler was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of July 21, 2017 in Waukegan.

IN-STATE WARRANT

Princeton Z. Hayes, 26, of the 7600 block of South Green Street in Chicago, was arrested and charged with an in-state warrant, speeding 15 – 20 mph over the limit and illegal transportation of alcohol after police conducted a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road shortly before 12:30 a.m. on June 17. Hayes was transported to Lake County Jail and has a court date of August 9, 2017 in Park City.

INCIDENTS

STOLEN VEHICLE

On June 13 at approximately 10:50 p.m. it was reported that a vehicle that had been left unlocked with the keys inside was stolen from the driveway of a residence in the 100 block of Lakewood Place. The vehicle was later recovered by the Chicago Police Department in the 5000 block of North Parkside Avenue in Chicago.

THEFT

On the morning of June 17, it was reported that an ex-employee stole cash from a business located in the 400 block of Skokie Valley Road during the course of two business transactions on June 7 and June 8.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

On the morning of June 18, it was reported that someone had spray painted graffiti on a bike path in the 400 block of Vine Avenue during the overnight hours of June 17th and June 18th.

THEFT

On the morning of June 18, it was reported that an unidentified woman stole a piece of property from the driveway of a residence located in the 3000 block of Parkside Drive at around 7:45 a.m.
