Music Icon Burt Bacharach Focus of Park Ridge Chorale Summer Concert
Park Ridge Chorale Presents "Bacharach & Friends" Sat. July 23
PARK RIDGE – (July 18, 2016) – When the Park Ridge Chorale (PRC) added up all the songs written by Burt Bacharach, they realized there was enough music to do an entire concert of his hauntingly familiar hits. “Bacharach & Friends” will be performed Saturday, July 23, 7 p.m., St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 205, N. Prospect, Park Ridge.
“When we were researching potential concert themes, it came to our attention that Burt Bacharach had written an extraordinary amount of music that would be familiar to everyone,” said Rhet O’Neill, president, PRC. “One of our members had researched Bacharach’s music and came to us with a recommendation that we devote an entire concert to his work, as well as a few of his contemporaries like Sergio Mendes, Roger Miller, Michele Legrand and others.”
For the past two years, the PRC has been focusing on themed concerts that have been attracting record crowds for the group. Past themes have ranged from WWII Big Band music, to Halloween and the 1950’s.

“The wealth of material we were able to choose from was impressive, so we knew we could put a great program together that our audience could connect to,” said Ed Zelnis, music director of the group.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.parkridgechorale.com or at the door. Prices for advanced tickets are $16 adults, $14 seniors. At the door, $18 adults, seniors $16. Children 18 & under are FREE. For more information, call 224-585-3403.
