New Affordable Townhome Development Opens In Highland Park
The CPAH project at 925 Deerfield Road will sell eight energy-efficient homes through a land trust program.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — Highland Park officials and housing partners joined Community Partners for Affordable Housing on Friday to celebrate the opening of a new affordable townhome development at 925 Deerfield Road.
The project includes eight energy-efficient townhomes that CPAH said will be sold to low- and moderate-income households through its Community Land Trust program.
The homes will be sold for $215,000 and $285,000 to households earning below 80 percent and below 120 percent of Area Median Income. CPAH said the Community Land Trust program is designed to keep the homes permanently affordable so future buyers can also access homeownership in Highland Park.

CPAH President Rob Anthony said the opening reflects years of partnership.

“This milestone represents what’s possible when a community comes together around a shared vision. We’re grateful to our partners for their collaboration and investment in affordable housing. Together, we are creating more opportunities for people to put down roots and build a future in Highland Park,” Anthony said.
The development is named in honor of Betsy Lassar, a Highland Park resident and longtime affordable housing advocate. According to CPAH, Lassar helped draft Highland Park’s Affordable Housing Plan, establish Illinois’ first Community Land Trust through CPAH and shape the city’s Inclusionary Housing Ordinance. CPAH also said she championed housing issues throughout her professional life.
