New Name for Highland Park Tennis Facility

Park District Board of Commissioners dumps 'Deer Creek Courts' for 'Deer Creek Racquet Club.'

Deer Creek Courts in Highland Park is now Deer Creek Racquet Club.

The Park District of Highland Park Board of Commissioners approved the name change for the tennis facility at 701 Deer Creek Parkway recently. According to board president Scott Meyers, the change “provides a better descriptor for the facility and one that is easier for our customers and residents to relate to and connect with.”

“Deer Creek has a long-standing reputation as a top quality tennis facility, and the new name does a better job of messaging that commitment to high-end tennis,” he said.

Earlier this summer, the club was named a 2015 United States Tennis Association (USTA) Facility of the Year - one of only 13 clubs from thousands of tennis facilities across the United States to receive the designation.

“Deer Creek’s recent renovation and the USTA award made the time right to step up our game with a more fitting name,” said Meyers. “And Deer Creek Racquet Club was aces.”
