North Shore Unemployment Rates Down

All four locales with populations of more than 25,000 saw steady decline from 2013.

Unemployment is down from last year throughout the North Shore according to the data, which is not seasonally adjusted, released by the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) on Tuesday.

Releasing numbers from November 2014, all four North Shore villages and cities with populations of 25,000 or greater have been in line with the general downward jobless trend.

The sharpest yearly decline in the area came in Evanston, where the 4.7 unemployment rate the IDES released regarding this November is 2 percent lower that where the city stood in November 2013 (6.7 percent).
