Pilfered Porch Furniture: Highland Park Crime Blotter

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following is the most recent crime blotter from the Highland Park Police Department.

THEFT

• Property - Sept. 14 at 7:50 a.m.
  • A resident reported that an unknown person took items from the residence in the 1700 block of Spruce Street.
• Mail - Sept. 18 at 2:23 p.m.
  • A resident reported that somebody had taken a package from their porch in the 600 block of Mulberry Place. Police said the package was estimated to be worth $20.
• Property - Sept. 18 at 4:57 p.m.
  • Police investigated a reported theft at Highland Park Hospital at 777 Park Ave. W. A resident told police that they left their phone in a hospital restroom, and it was missing when they went to retrieve it.
• Property - Sept. 19 at 3:46 p.m.
  • A resident reported that two benches, worth $1,000, were stolen from their property.

BURGLARY

• Vehicle - Sept. 18 at 12:13 p.m.
  • A resident told police that somebody got into their unlocked car and went through their glove compartment, but nothing was stolen.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

• Traffic - Sept. 18 at 2:03 p.m.
  • A resident told police that somebody punctured their tire overnight while it was parked in the 100 block of Edgecliff Drive. Police estimated the cost of the damage was $600.
