Deerfield woman with warrant charged with resisting arrest; North Chicago man accused of DUI: Highland Park Police Blotter

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
SIGN THEFT
Yard signs with messages in support for police were stolen from a front yard in the 400 block of Ridge Road on July 29 and July 30, police were told on Aug. 4.
SHOPLIFTING
Two women or girls stole vitamins, cosmetics and medicine from a business in the 600 block of Elm Place prior to 9:15 p.m. Aug. 9. Police reported the pair of female shoplifters fled in an older white SUV.

GRAFFITI
- Someone spray painted a derogatory word in black paint on a white SUV parked in the 700 block of Park Avenue West and punctured its rear tires at some point between 4:30 and 5:15 a.m. on Aug. 5.
- A depiction of a penis was discovered in black paint at the corner of Hill and Western avenues around 7 p.m on Aug. 9. It was accompanied by insulting terms.
PURSE THEFTS

- Someone stole a gray purse from a store in the 1700 block of St. Johns Avenue between 11 a.m. and noon Aug. 6, making off with several wallets, about $400 in cash and car keys while its owner had stepped into an office. The car keys, empty wallet and purse were found in bushes nearby, while another wallet with cash, credit cards and IDs remains missing.
- Someone stole a $200 in cash from inside a purse that had been left unattended in a back room of a business in the 300 block of Skokie Valley Road prior to 8 p.m. Aug. 6.
CAR BURGLARIES
- Someone burglarized a Ford pickup truck that had likely been left unlocked in the 1200 block of Eaton Court, stealing $80 in cash from inside prior to 8 a.m. Aug. 5.
- A burglary tool may have been used to get into a Nissan sedan parked in the 1200 block of Eaton Court on the night of Aug. 4 or early morning hours of Aug. 5, but other than some weather stripping appearing out of place, there was no damage to the car.
- Someone burglarized an unlocked Subaru station wagon in the 800 block of North Avenue prior to 8 a.m. Aug. 5, rummaging through the interior. Nothing was reported stolen.
STOLEN CARS
- A Jeep SUV left unlocked with the keys inside in the 1000 block of Livingston Street was stolen during the night of Aug. 4 or early morning hours of Aug. 5. Around 1:45 p.m. on Aug. 7, the owner found it parked in the 2000 block of Greenwood Avenue with the keys still inside and nothing stolen.
- A Ford SUV parked in a driveway in the 1900 block of Elmwood Drive was stolen sometime between 10 p.m. Aug. 4 and 9 a.m. Aug. 5. No keys were left inside, but it was not clear if the car had been locked. As of Monday, the SUV had not been found.
ARRESTS
Fernando Rivera, 55, of the 100 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park, was arrested shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 4 at his home and charged with domestic battery following a report of an fight there.
Dentri Henning, 30, of the 2000 block of Emmaus Avenue, Zion was arrested around 4:15 a.m. on Aug. 5 and charged driving under the influence of drugs following a traffic stop of a car he was driving in the 2900 block of Skokie Valley Road. Police also issued him citations for speeding and unlawful possession of cannabis.
Corey Bailey, 26, of the 1700 block of Barrett Court, North Chicago, was arrested shortly after 2 a.m. on Aug. 7 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater following a traffic stop near the intersection of Half Day and Skokie Valley roads.
Katherine Anderson, 35, of the 1400 block of Somerset Lane, Deerfield, was arrested around 3:15 a.m. on Aug. 8 on a warrant connected to an allegation she stole a display laptop from the Target store at 2099 Skokie Valley Road on June 24. She was also charged with resisting arrest after police reported she struggled while being taken into custody and tried to kick officers who encountered her walking down the middle of Old Deerfield Road.
