'Food Truck Thursdays' Music Lineup Announced In Highland Park

Ravinia District of Highland Park hosts the summer series on Thursday nights starting June 1.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL – Ravinia District of Highland Park is excited to announce the fantastic food truck and music lineup for its new weekly ‘Ravinia District Food Truck Thursdays’ summer event series.

Starting June 1st through September 14th, the public is invited to come and enjoy a wide variety of food and drinks from more than a dozen food trucks and local restaurants while listening to live outdoor musical performances.

Food Truck Thursdays will begin at 4:30 p.m. and end at dusk, on Dean Avenue between Roger Williams and St. Johns Avenues, and in Jens Jensen Park, across from the Ravinia Metra Station. Free parking is available.

A terrific array of food trucks will line Dean Avenue, offering a wide variety of fabulous food, including options from Beaver’s Coffee and Donuts, Da Lobsta, The Fat Shallot, La Cocinita, Loop Juice, Louie B Fresh Mobile Kitchen, Mike’s Revenge, Wheely’s Café, Yum Dum, and others, as well as two fashion trucks, Deliciously Shoes and North and Hudson. Brewery will also be serving a selection of creative cocktails, wine and craft beer in Jens Jensen Park.

Live musical performances will be staged in the center of Jens Jensen Park, sponsored by Highland Park Community Foundation, Ravinia District Special Service Area 17 property owners and Life Rhythms.

The weekly music line up will include:

June 1st:

  • 5:00 - 8:30 pm — Bowmanville, performs incredible swing tunes

June 8th:

  • 5:00 - 6:30 pm — Max Subar, songs of Midwestern roots
  • 7:00 - 8:30 pm — Radio Free Honduras, features Latin pop tunes including leader’s song “Sopa de Caracol” which was the #1 Billboard Top Latin Songs hit in 1992

June 15th:

  • 5:00 - 6:30 pm — Elijah Palnik, “Elijah Aaron has raised the bar for one-man bands everywhere.” - People Magazine
  • 7:00 - 8:30 pm — Campeau & Craig, Bluegrass folk music

June 22nd:

  • 5:00 - 8:30 pm — Spare Parts, performs blend of original funk-jazz music

June 29th:

  • 5:00 - 8:30 pm — Jared Rabin Band, multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter, and producer from Chicago

July 6th:

July 13th:

July 20th:

  • 5:00 - 6:30 pm — The Ravinia Ramblers, features the original songs of Jason Berger and othercrowd pleasing covers
  • 7:00 - 8:30 pm — Johnny Martinez Band, Latin folk rock

July 27th:

  • 5:00 - 6:30 pm — David Hawkins, singing songs that are both tough and gentle
  • 7:00 - 8:30 pm — Don Stiernberg, playing a collection of jazz tunes

August 3rd:

August 10th:

  • 5:00 - 8:00 pm — Pat McKillen, powerful and passionate pop, rock, and folk performance

August 17th:

  • 5:00 - 8:00 pm — The Handsome Devil’s Trio, Hot Jazz

August 24th:

  • 5:00 - 6:00 pm — David Dallison, a wide ranging to interest an array of ages and tastes
  • 6:30 - 8:00 pm — Christ Walz, combines his joy of performing with a respect for America’s musical history

August 31st:

September 14th:

  • 5:00 - 7:30 pm — Pony Town, plays old-time songs from around the world
