Take a guided musical tour around Mexico with this Grammy-nominated folk music ensemble specializing in Mexican ‘son’ including the regional styles of huapango, gustos, chilenas, son jarocho, and more.
Winners of the 2015 Chicago Music Awards for Best Latin Band, Sones de Mexico Ensemble is Chicago’s premier Mexican folk music band since 1994 with six albums, and two GRAMMY™ nominations under their belt. Sones de Mexico has toured, coast-to-coast, performing at The Getty Villa Museum in Los Angeles, Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington, DC, Millennium Park in Chicago, and as far as Beijing, China.
