This Sunday 7/7 be sure to attend this special event with an exclusive premiere of the "I Can Only Be Mary Lane" award winning documentary by Jesseca Ynez Simmons. The 59 minute film introduces 83 year old Mary Lane, the last of the Delta blues women who left Little Rock, Arkansas to migrated to Chicago in the company of Howlin' Wolf, Robert Nighthawk and Junior Wells. The movie tells the story of her struggles and the making of her "Travelin' Woman" record, only Mary's 2nd solo album following her debut release over 20 years ago. Produced by GRAMMY Award winning Jim Tullio (Butcher Boy Studios in Evanston), 10 original songs Co-Written by Mary Lane, nine Co-Written by Tullio and one track a collaboration with Colin Linden.
"Travelin' Woman" has been featured weekly on WNUR Blues Show and continues to receive regular airplay across the country and around the world. Since album release in March, it has been in the top 20 on Living Blues Radio Charts the past three months, peaking at #5.
Mary Lane, a Chicago Blues Hall of Famer was just nominated for two Blues Blast Music Awards, one for Best Female Blues Artist and one for Best Traditional Blues Album with voting open the month of July through mid August for the September awards ceremony.
This past month in addition to performing at the Chicago Blues Festival, Mary appeared on ABC WLS 7 Windy City Live; WGN 720AM Radio - EXT 720 with Justin Kaufmann; premiered the documentary and made a guest musical appearance at the Chicago History Museum, (where she is also featured in their Amplified exhibit) and she headlined a benefit for the Hope Learning Center at the Bottom Lounge to kick off Blues Fest week.

At 8PM Mary Lane and the No Static Blues Band will be making their debut at 210 LIVE in Highwood with a performance guaranteed to please any music lover. Special guests will be sitting in throughout the night including 210 LIVE's impresario and B3 wizard, Judy Shatkin, Will Wiegler on drums and powerhouse vocals of Highwood's Very Own, Win Noll.
