Tattoo Parlor to Open in Highwood

3 Barrels Studios will be the first tattoo shop to open on the North Shore.

The first tattoo parlor on Chicago’s North Shore will celebrate its grand opening on Friday, December 4 in Highwood.

3 Barrels Studios has made over the Metra Station at 317 Green Bay Road in Highwood to provide what they call the “newest creative art” cooperative in town.

“3 Barrels Studios is a home for artists, a place to learn, gather, and show art from “all” artists, of “all” skill levels, with “all” media,” said Kevin Loesch, Owner/Artist. Plans call for regular art exhibitions, workshop displays, and sharing artists’ works in local businesses and vacant storefronts helping to brighten up Highwood’s business district and offer free “curb appeal.”

The community is invited for the studio’s official ribbon cutting, set for Dec. 4 at 4 p.m. The shop will be open from 2-8:30 p.m. that day and offer 10 percent off any tattoo.

Loesch will join co-founder Joel Morgan, Highwood Mayor Charlie Pecaro and Highwood Chamber of Commerce president Jennifer Zanotti for the ribbon cutting. Food and drinks will be served.

“We are thrilled to see the transformation of the Metra Station into such a creative business, as commuters come into our City by train,” Highwood Mayor Charlie Pecaro said. “Kevin and Joel are a wonderfully welcoming team and 3 Barrels Studios has so much to offer.”
