Theif Grabs Dropped Wallet At Grocery Store: Highland Park Crime Blotter

The crime blotter covers incidents in Highland Park from May 4-10.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following is the most recent crime blotter from the Highland Park Police Department.

BURGLARY

  • Attempt - May 7 at 8:17 a.m.
    • A resident living on the 1900 block of Linden Avenue reported that their unlocked car was broken into, but nothing was taken.
  • Vehicle - May 7 at 8:29 a.m.
    • A resident living 0n the 300 block of Central Avenue reported that someone got inside their unlocked vehicle overnight and took $10 cash and other items.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

  • Damage - May 8 at 4:27 p.m.
    • A resident living on the 900 block of Augusta Way reported that their car window was smashed on the driver's side. Nothing was taken, police said.

THEFT

  • Retail - May 10 at 2:11 p.m.
    • An employee at the Jewel-Osco located at 1600 Deerfield Road reported that someone left the store with several items without paying. The estimated cost of the items was $414.
  • Property - May 10 at 6:28 p.m.
    • Police received a report of a theft at the Sunset Foods at 1812 Green Bay Road. A customer said they lost their wallet inside the store, and a security guard said they saw someone take the wallet and leave. The total estimated loss is $200.
