Third Annual "Moves Like Tori" Fun Fair Set for September 12 at YMCA
Family event raises funds for local charities and support groups, in honor of Northbrook toddler.
The Tori Wilensky Foundation will host a community fun fair at the North Suburban YMCA on Saturday, September 12, in support of the Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood Program (SUDC.org) and other charities. The third annual “Moves Like Tori” event will offer an afternoon of family fun from 2:00 to 4:30pm, celebrating the memory of a Northbrook toddler who passed away in August of 2012. The YMCA is located at 2705 Techny Road in Northbrook.
Moves Like Tori – a reference to one of Tori’s favorite songs, “Moves Like Jagger” – was launched in 2013. In the last two years, well over 1000 guests have participated in the event, enjoying a day ofentertainment, outdoor activities, and fundraising auctions. For 2015, Moves Like Tori will include a dance party led by Bizar Entertainment, a performance by the Glenbrook North Poms Team, a bake sale with delicious snacks, and a wide assortment of inflatable bounce houses, obstacle courses, and carnival games. A new addition will be a performance by Art Beat Live, who will create a music-inspired painting that will then be auctioned off. Adults will also enjoy bidding in live and silent auctions with a wide variety of enticing donations.
To date, the Tori Wilensky Foundation has raised over $55,000 for charity. The majority of funds are donated to SUDC.org, an organization that supports families suffering a loss like the Wilensky family’s. Additional donations support The Willow House, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, West End House Camp, and the Backpack Blessing program at Temple Jeremiah.
