Two From Chicago Charged in Motorist Dispute: Cops

The following information is from the Highland Park Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

RETAIL THEFT

John Gaspar, 25, Wheeling was arrested and charged with retail theft after allegedly creating false receipts for items and exchanging the items at other stores for cash refunds. The incident occurred at a business in the 200 block of Skokie Valley Road at 3:05 p.m. on March 23.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE REVOKED

De Andre Jeffries, 21, Waukegan was arrested and charged with driving while license revoked, improper lane usage and uninsured motor vehicle after being stopped by police near Park Avenue West and Skokie Valley Road at 2:27 a.m. on March 26.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED

Harry Belk, Jr., 29, Chicago was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and driving while license suspended for no insurance after being stopped by police in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road at 8:19 p.m. on March 26.

BATTERY & DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Sebastian Ramirez, 20 and Deontae Riley, 19 - both of Chicago - were arrested and charged with battery after police responded to a report of a physical dispute between two motorists in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road at 8:30 p.m. on March 27.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

A 2008 Dodge Charger has been keyed multiple times in the past month. Inflammatory words have been scratched into the trunk and on the passenger side of the vehicle while parked in the 700 block of Park Avenue West.

BURGLARY FROM MOTOR VEHICLE

An unknown subject(s) smashed the driver’s side window on a 2002 Honda van and stole a purse sometime before 12:12 p.m. on March 25. The purse contained various credit cards and identification. The incident occurred while the van was parked in the 300 block of Laurel Avenue.
