HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. INCIDENTS
RETAIL THEFT

A Lake Forest woman was issued an was issued an administrative citation for retail theft on Aug. 14 after attempting to steal merchandise from a business located in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road.
BURGLARY

On the morning of Aug. 15, it was reported that someone forced their way into a business located in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road and stole various items around 11:30 p.m. the previous night.
CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
On Aug. 16, it was reported that someone used chalk to deface public property at a facility in the 2900 block of Summit Avenue at an unknown time.
THEFT
On Aug. 19, it was reported that someone stole a cell phone from an individual while at a beach located in the first block of Ravine Drive.
ARRESTS
SUSPENDED LICENSE
A 32-year-old Gurnee man was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, driving without headlights when required and improper lane usage after police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Half Day Road on Aug. 15 at 4:15 p.m.
NO VALID LICENSE
A 25-year-old Highwood woman was arrested on Aug. 16 at 3:49 p.m.and charged with no valid driver’s license and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after police responded to a traffic crash near the intersection of Half Day Road and Ridge Road.
DUI
Diamond Scorpio Martin, 36, of the 2700 block of Galilee Avenue in Zion, was arrested Aug. 20 at 1:49 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence and speeding more than 35 mph over the limit after police conducted a traffic stop in the 2100 block of Skokie Valley Road.
