Key Players: Deerfield was led by senior Kristen Hilo's five goals, four of them coming in the second half. Junior Haley Bess added 4 goals for the Warriors, three coming in the first half. Sophomore Carley Sternberg and junior Emily Wegh each added three goals.
For the Giants, senior Lauren Evans and sophomore Maxie Mottlowitz each scored 4 goals. Sammie Klein, Maddy Mottlowitz and Catherine Lanchak each netted a goal for Highland Park.

Key Stats: Highland Park jumped out to a 3-0 lead with 16 minutes, 49 seconds remaining in the first half. Deerfield Head Coach Krista Settles called a timeout after the Giants scored the third goal. Her team went a 5-0 run over the next 7:45 to grab a lead they would not relinquish. It was still a two-goal game at halftime, but the Warriors went on a four goal run in the first 2:30 of the second half to jump out to a 11-5 lead. The Giants would not be able to get any closer than within 5 goals.
What's Next: Highland Park ends the season with a 2-12 record, but they will return 19 of 24 players in 2012. The Warriors will move on to face top seeded Glenbrook South in the second round of sectional play, scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Highland Park High School.
