Water Bills to Increase in Highland Park Next Year

The city plans to implement a 5 percent raise beginning on Jan. 1.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL - Residents of Highland Park will see an increase in their water bills beginning in 2017.

Base water rates will rise by 5 percent in the city and a three-tiered pricing structure will be implemented to discourage excessive consumption, according to a Highland Park News report.

With the 5 percent hike, the water rates for city residents have risen by a total of 15 percent since 2014. The new rates will be $2.155 per 100 cubic feet of water.
