Waukegan Man Pulled Over for Speeding, Charged With DUI: Police

The following information is from the Highland Park Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

RETAIL THEFT

Bozena Swiatkowski, 65, of the 600 block of Elm Place, was arrested and charged with retail theft after a complaint Aug. 2 in the 1600 block of Deerfield Road.

Swiatkowski's court date is Aug. 17.

DUI

Robert I. Castellanos, 31, of the 2400 block of Western Avenue, Waukegan, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, speeding, improper lane use and driving without a valid license after an Aug. 7 traffic stop near the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Clavey Road. Police clocked Castellanos traveling 26 to 30 mph over the speed limit.

Castellanos was released on bail, and his court date is Sept. 9.

DUI

Delaina L. Carpenter, 47, of the 10000 block of Brooks Lane, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use, driving without insurance and driving while using an electric communication device after an Aug. 7 traffic stop in the 800 block of Central Avenue.

Carpenter's court date is Sept. 9.
