Where to Shop in Highland Park and Deerfield on Small Business Saturday

HIGHLAND PARK, DEERFIELD, IL - Small Business Saturday will be held on Saturday, Nov. 26 this year, with several locally owned businesses taking part in Highland Park and Deerfield..

The annual day is positioned between Black Friday and Cyber Monday and was established in 2010 as a way to encourage people to support small, local businesses. The day became official a year later with the backing of national, state and local officials.

The new shopping tradition resulted in an estimated $16.2 billion spent at small independent businesses in 2015.

Here’s a look at a few local shopping options.

Ross Boutique, Backyard Grill, Lori’s Designer Shoes and Bett’s are among the local businesses participating in Small Business Saturday in Highland Park. Keyth Security Systems, Citywoods and Cos Bar of Highland Park are listed among the Small Business Saturday member favorites.

Upper Crust Bagel Co., Kidsnips, the Music Center of Deerfield and Cherry Pit Cafe are among the local businesses participating in Small Business Saturday in Deerfield. The Deerfield Park District, Carson Ribs and Deerfield’s Bakery are listed among the Small Business Saturday member favorites.

Ballaro, a favorite Italian restaurant in Highwood that's the brainchild of lifelong friends Josh Kaplan and Mark Newman, will be open on Small Business Saturday.

Downtown Highland Park has released a Black Friday guide, with some of the businesses listed offering promotions and deals for Small Business Saturday as well.
