“Yoga Together” will give young children (ages 2 ½ to 5 years) and their parents a unique opportunity to enjoy yoga, stories, art and music together.

Family Network staff members Eileen Tarnoff, LCSW, and Amy Micari, early childhood teacher, will guide families through basic yoga poses to be done individually or as a parent-child pair. The art, music and story will focus on a different theme each week. “Yoga is perfect for very young children,” said Tarnoff, who has been introducing yoga to children in the morning drop-in program at Family Network’s Parent/Child Center. “It teaches kids how to listen, cooperate, use imagination, concentrate and how to be still and quiet. When parents and children do yoga together, they spend time learning together about each other and their bodies. They can concentrate on each other with no distractions.”
