What is “Recycled”?

For nearly four decades, The Art Center has celebrated creativity and sustainability through this vibrant event. Thousands of unique art pieces - generously donated by collectors, galleries, and institutions - find new homes here. It’s your chance to uncover an eclectic mix of high-quality art at prices that make your heart (and wallet) happy.

What’s the sale for?

Every dollar raised - from admission fees to art sales and sponsorships - supports our general operating fund. This annual event helps keep our programs thriving and our community inspired all year long.

Can I still donate art?

Absolutely! We welcome art donations whenever we’re open: Monday through Saturday, 10 AM - 4 PM. We even take art in DURING the event!

Your contributions keep the creative cycle going - thank you for being part of it!

What kinds of donations do you accept?

We love paintings, drawings, photography, posters, sculpture, mixed media, jewelry, frames, and more.

While we’ve accepted furniture and decorative rugs in the past, we’re now focusing on art-specific items only.

What happens to leftover art?

Ideally, nothing’s left - we hope every piece finds a new home!

If some treasures remain, donations are made to wonderful community partners like Affordable Housing, Chicago Furniture Bank, and others who help give art a second life.

Whether you’re donating, shopping, or just browsing, The Recycled Art Sale is your chance to join a creative tradition that turns yesterday’s art into tomorrow’s inspiration.
